🏗 Core Technology Stack

Our animation production leverages four primary pillars to balance quality, speed, and creative flexibility:

  1. Moho: Primary tool for 2D vector animation. Used for character rigging and bone-based animation.
  2. Blender: Primary tool for 3D production and specialized 2D (Grease Pencil) workflows.
  3. ComfyUI: AI-based enhancement and generative workflows for textures, backgrounds, or stylistic transfers.
  4. Cavalry & Fusion (Resolve): Dedicated Motion Graphics and compositing. Fusion is favored for final VFX and integration within DaVinci Resolve.

🎨 Asset Strategy: The "Nafuna Avenues" Library

To achieve high-end production speeds for commercial explainers, we utilize the Nafuna Avenues asset library:

  • Style Guide: Unique African 2D aesthetic (Geometric/Stylized, reminiscent of Gravity Falls or Family Guy).
  • Characters: 10+ core characters currently available, with ongoing expansion.
  • Commercial Integration: For explainer videos, we prioritize adapting pre-built characters/backgrounds from Nafuna Avenues to reduce lead times from scratch.

🔄 Production Stages

1. Pre-Production & Asset Selection

  • Action: Select existing characters from the Nafuna Avenues library that fit the client's brief.
  • Action: Identify if custom assets/backgrounds are needed or if AI (ComfyUI) can generate/enhance existing ones.

2. 2D Production (Moho/Blender)

  • Moho: Export character rigs or perform scene-specific character animation where bone-depth and 2D physics are required.
  • Blender: Utilize for environments or hybrid 2D/3D interactions.

3. Motion Graphics & VFX (Cavalry/Fusion)

  • Cavalry: Real-time procedural motion graphics (typography, icons, data visualization).
  • Fusion: Final compositing, color correction, and screen insertions (VFX).

4. AI Post-Processing (ComfyUI)

  • Workflow: Apply AI-driven stylistic passes to unify textures or generate procedural elements for backgrounds.

📈 Optimization Rules

  • Reuse First: Never build from scratch if a Nafuna Avenues asset can be modified.
  • Hybrid Efficiency: Use Moho for characters and Cavalry for iconography—mix tools based on the fastest path to quality.
  • AI Augmentation: Use ComfyUI to iterate on background variations quickly.
