Project Plan: Nafuna Avenues - The Game
🗺 Vision
A flagship edutainment experience in the vein of Toca Boca and Avatar World. The game is an isometric, interactive exploration of "The Avenues," designed to teach children African languages through play, storytelling, and high-fidelity stylized visuals.
🏗 Game Structure & Mechanics
- Top-Down Isometric Map: A vibrant, stylized representation of The Avenues. Players can pan and zoom into different "Districts" or buildings.
- Point-and-Click Exploration: Selecting an area (e.g., The Market, The Library, Grandpa's House) triggers specialized mini-games.
- Avatars & Characters: Players pick/customize an avatar. Our 10+ Core Nafuna Avenues Characters act as mentors, shopkeepers, and NPCs within the world.
- Language Learning (Core Loop):
- Players select a target African language.
- Mini-games are engineered around vocabulary acquisition (e.g., "Find the Makatwa" or "Prepare the Sadza").
- Dynamic NPC dialogue uses the selected language to provide immersive learning.

- Engine: Godot (2D with Isometric Z-Sorting)

- AI Integration:
- Translation Agent: Manages the dynamic translation of UI and dialogue based on selected language.
- Audio NPCs: ElevenLabs integration for high-quality, authentic pronunciation of African language terms.
- Assets:
- Environments: Isometric tilesets designed in Affinity/Blender.
- Characters: Moho rigged characters exported as high-res Sprites.
🚀 Phase 1: MVP (The "Selection District")
Goal: A polished single-building prototype that demonstrates the Toca Boca style "Dollhouse" interactivity.
- Isometric Hub: A small section of the street map.
- The Playable Avatar: Basic movement and "Equip" system for clothes/items.
- One Mini-Game: A "Language Match" game inside a single venue.
- Character Intro: One main Nafuna Avenues character greeting the player in the target language.
📈 Long-Term Strategy: "The Ngano Ecosystem"
- Content Updates: New African languages and districts added as expansion packs.
- Brand Synergy: The game becomes the primary "Interactive Manual" for the Nafuna Avenues animated series.
💰 Monetization & Growth
- The "Cross-Media" Flywheel: Every player who plays the game is introduced to the animated series. Every viewer of the series is prompted to download the game.
- IAP: African-themed skins, unique house decorations, and "Speed Boosts" for city building.
- B2B Opportunity: We can reskin "The Avenues" for corporate training or tourism promotion (see Zimbabwe Tourism task).
📅 Immediate Actions
- Asset Audit: Export the first 3 characters from Moho to Godot-ready sprite sheets.
- Prototype Phase: Build a "Walk and Talk" prototype in Godot by End of Week.
- Dialogue Engine: Connect a basic n8n workflow to Godot for "Dynamic NPC Conversations."
