By weaving nutrition, hygiene, and mental health into children’s entertainment, Angry Mwana became a tool for generational health literacy, proving animation’s power to simplify complex medical topics into actionable community knowledge.

Veritas Animated Advocacy videos.

Nafuna Africa partnered with Veritas Zimbabwe to produce two animated series addressing sensitive social issues. The first series documented organized violence through symbolic storytelling, while the second focused on women’s rights topics like sexual abuse, child marriage, and legal protections. Using trauma-informed animation techniques, we crafted 10 culturally rooted videos featuring allegorical characters and Shona narrative structures. Designed to spark dialogue, the animations combined relatable storytelling with legal education, providing communities with accessible tools to discuss complex, stigmatized topics.
